This 6-hour class is designed for persons who wish to apply for a Minnesota handgun carry permit under MSS 624.714. This is primarily a "when to use a handgun in self defense" class. The cost for this class is $100 The following information will be covered in this class: - MN Personal Protection Act of 2005 - Laws relevant to using and carrying a handgun in MN - Elements of handgun shooting - Use of force and less-lethal force in self defense - A written exam - A 50-round qualification course of fire for handgun - Other information relevant to persons carrying a handgun for protection In order to register for this class, students must be able to operate a handgun in a personal defense manner. They must provide their own ammunition (50 rounds). Other equipment needs will be discussed at the time of registration.
